Activity Directions:

2. After everyone has completed the puzzle, read aloud Revelation 7:9-17.
3. Explain the activity, "Today, we're going to memorize Revelation 7:10, which is the answer to the puzzle in your bulletin: 'Salvation belongs to our God.' Let's say our verse together, along with the reference: 'Salvation belongs to our God. —Revelation 7:10'"
4. Continue, "In the Scripture that I read and at the top of our puzzle, how did John describe that the multitudes said this verse?" (Accept answers such as "They yelled it," "They cried out in a loud voice," "They shouted it," etc.)
5. Continue, "So, let's try shouting." (Lead the shouting of "Salvation belongs to our God. —Revelation 7:10")
6. Continue, "OK, that was good, but I know you can shout much louder than that! Let's try again." (Lead the shouting of "Salvation belongs to our God. —Revelation 7:10")
7. Continue, "That was great! Who thinks that he or she can shout this Scripture without everyone helping? (Accept volunteers and offer praise for a job well-done or encouragement if the complete verse and reference cannot be recited. Continue until everyone who wants to shout the verse and reference has had the opportunity.)
8. Continue, "So that you'll remember what the multitudes were shouting when they reached heaven, let's recite the verse and reference in our quietest whisper voices." (Lead the whispering of "Salvation belongs to our God. —Revelation 7:10")
9. Continue, "Let's try it in robot voices." (Lead the recitation of "Salvation belongs to our God. —Revelation 7:10" in robot voices.)
10. Continue, "OK, let's try it one last time in our loudest voices of all." (Lead the shouting of "Salvation belongs to our God. —Revelation 7:10")
11. Finish by explaining, "Now we will remember what the multitudes will shout when they get to heaven. But we also learned a new way to memorize Scripture. When you want to memorize a verse and its reference, simply say it in a normal voice and then say it in several other voices. Can you think of other voices that you can use to help you memorize Scripture like we did today?" (Accept example voices such as shouting, whispering, talking like a robot, talking like a mouse, singing, etc.)

Activity Preparation:

• Print a bulletin for everyone
• Gather enough colored pencils for everyone
• For each child, prepare nine strips of various colored card stock, approximately 1" x 3" and punch a hole in one end
• Cut a 15" length of cord or yarn for everyone

Activity Directions:

1. Give everyone a bulletin and pencil and have them solve the puzzle "John said he heard the angels in heaven worshiping God and saying ..."
2. After everyone has completed the puzzle, have a helper distribute a length of cord or yarn and a set of nine strips of cardstock to everyone. Place the colored pencils in the center of the workspace for everyone to share.
3. Explain the activity, "To help us remember how the angels worship God, we're going to make our own code necklaces. You'll encode each strip of card stock with one line from our puzzle. Onto the front of the first strip, copy the symbols that spell 'Amen.' Then, onto the back, write the word 'Amen!'"
4. Continue, "Continue with the next strip. Onto the front of the strip, copy the symbols that spell 'Praise' and 'Glory'. Be sure to add the 'and' between the two sets of symbols. Onto the back, write the words 'Praise and Glory.'"
5. Continue, "Continue making strips, copying the symbols for each line onto the front of the strip and writing the words onto the back, until you've finished all nine strips."
6. Continue, "Then, string your strips, in order, onto your cord/yarn, and tie the ends together in a knot to create your code necklace."
7. While everyone works on their code necklaces, read aloud Revelation 7:9-17 to reinforce the lesson.
